The short version
Koticha is built to work entirely offline. It does not request internet access, does not require an account, and does not send any data (yours or your students') to PsyByte Labs or anyone else. Everything you enter stays on your device unless you choose to export and share it yourself.
What Koticha stores
To do its job, Koticha stores the following information locally on your device, in a database the app alone can access:
- Class names you create
- Student details you add: student number, name, and sex
- Subjects you add per class, and their maximum scores
- Scores you enter, by student, subject, and term
- Optional school profile details, if you choose to fill them in: school name, district, and your name
None of this is transmitted anywhere by the app. There is no server, no account system, and no network permission for Koticha to send it through even if it wanted to.
Exports and sharing
When you export a performance sheet to Excel or PDF, the file is saved to your device's Downloads folder. If you choose to share it, for example through WhatsApp, that happens through Android's own share sheet, under your control. PsyByte Labs has no visibility into if, when, or with whom you share an exported file.
Analytics and tracking
Koticha does not include analytics, crash reporting services, advertising identifiers, or any third-party tracking. If this ever changes in a future version, this policy will be updated first, and the change will be described plainly here.
Backup and restore
Koticha can export your entire database to a single backup file so you can restore it later, for example after switching devices. This file is created and stored at your direction and is never uploaded automatically.
Children's data
Koticha is used by teachers, not students, and is not directed at children. Student names and scores entered by a teacher are treated with the same on-device-only handling described above: stored locally, never transmitted by the app.
Deleting your data
Uninstalling Koticha removes its local database from your device. Within the app, individual classes, students, and subjects can also be deleted at any time, with confirmation.
